They met in the 4th grade, and on their first romantic date in high school, they made a painting together that expressed their happiness. The lotus flower is one I photographed blossoming on a lily pad in their backyard koi pond on the very day of our photo-shoot. The gorgeous engagement ring was designed by Jordan, as was the crystal "Will You Marry Me?" Christmas tree ornament, both of which he gave to Lexi on one knee while proposing on their very special Christmas Eve (and both of which I handled ever so carefully while photographing). The plumeria flowers honor their love of tropical islands, as does their beloved beach shoreline near their home. Two months before their upcoming wedding in Hawaii, the photo-shoot I shot at their home and at the ocean was really fun, uplifting and joyous for all of us. Before photographing each of their 12-member team in their Homebuilder Survey Division, I interviewed each person to unveil who they were, the roles they served and the company products or services they'd designed or were experts in, their authentic personality, dreams, goals, talents, what they loved.... Then during the photo shoot at their office, I invited them the opportunity to express the joy of being their boundless & authentic selves, their feelings for being a part of this wonderful and successful company, and teammates with each other. The three days photographing at their headquarters was uplifting and fun for all. The final high-resolution archival print is 4-ft wide by 2-ft high, and is printed on polished aluminum: an exciting visual-look that dovetails beautifully with their elegant and professional office's interior design. Angel was just 17 years-old when she wrote this letter to her courtroom judge to express her true feelings and passions to change her life and rise to the hopeful destiny of her Love. She wrote these words behind bars in Los Angeles' Central Juvenile Hall jail, and as I designed the book to honor these kids' lives through text, photos, graphic design and illustrations, I painted this passionate red heart in oil pastels, then ripped it in half. After sailing a 50-ft sailboat with two friends across and through the gale-force winds & storms of the Caribbean Sea, we arrived at their peaceful and otherwise inaccessible enclave of tiny islands dotted with primitive huts on stilts.
